Jingle and Joy 2026
Jingle and Joy is Portsmouth Music Service’s inclusive festive event, particularly popular with schools supporting children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). This year's celebration will take place on 9 December at St. Mary’s Church, Fratton.
It is a wonderful opportunity for children and young people to showcase their talents, celebrate their achievements, and share the joy of the season with other schools, families, and invited guests in the beautiful setting of Portsmouth Cathedral.
What do schools have to do?
Attend the twilight session on Tuesday 6 October at 4pm on Teams
Learn 6 community songs
Perform 1 solo item - Your school's solo contribution can be anything you are already preparing for your own Christmas celebrations, such as a song, poem, dance, instrumental performance, or other festive presentation.
When is it?
Jingle and Joy will take place on Wednesday 9 December at St. Mary’s Church, Fratton at 10.15am for a 10.30am start until approx. 11.30am.
What do we wear?
You can choose to wear your school uniform, a Christmas costume, or festive accessories if you wish. Props are optional too. The aim is to keep things simple and achievable, giving everyone a fun and manageable goal to work towards.
Can parents and families attend?
Parents, carers and family members are warmly invited to attend the performance. However, due to venue capacity, seating will be limited and the number of tickets available will depend on the number of pupils taking part.
This year, we will be introducing a ticketing system to help manage attendance.
Tickets will be free of charge but limited to a set number per booking.
Families will be able to reserve tickets in advance via TicketSource.
Please note that admission cannot be guaranteed without a pre-booked ticket. Further details regarding tickets will be discussed at the twilight planning meeting.
